The police of Tien Giang province, Vietnam coordinated with the Provincial People’s Procuracy to organize a scene examination and determine the coordinates of 16 violating barges on the Tien River, Vietnamese detectives.
On March 10, 2024, the Environmental Crime Prevention Police Department C05 – Ministry of Public Security inspected and discovered and arrested 16 vehicles illegally pumping sand and transporting sand of unknown origin. on Tien River, Tien Giang and Vinh Long waters.
On the barges there are 23 people residing in many localities, who are mining.
Of the 16 barges, 2 are transporting sand, 3 are illegally mining sand, 5 are anchored and the remaining 6 vehicles are docking to transfer sand.
The total volume of sand violated by the barges was determined to be nearly 980m3.
Department C05 is coordinating with the police to expand investigation and handling according to the provisions of law in Vietnam.
