The criminal police department of Thanh Hoa province police arrested 4 subjects collecting protection money at Hai Tien beach resort.
The four people arrested are: Le Ngoc Thai, born 2003, Le Trung Luong, born 2006, Le Ba Vu, born 2003.
These people all reside in Hoang Hoa district; Phan Van Thanh (born 1995), resides in Thanh Ba district, Phu Tho province, Vietnam.
According to the statement, Le Ngoc Thai is the leader of the protection money collection case.
Thai came up with the idea of collecting money from people who came to Hai Tien beach resort to do business.
On the evening of April 19, 2025, the subjects divided into 2 groups to threaten and collect from 100,000 VND to 300,000 VND/household, with the reason of arranging the location and cleaning.
When the subjects were collecting protection money, they were discovered and arrested by the police.
Le Ngoc Thai, Phan Van Thanh and Le Ba Vu had previous convictions for disturbing public order and robbery.
