Dak Lak provincial police have just dismantled a dog-stealing ring operating between provinces.
Authorities have prosecuted three suspects, including a 74-year-old woman.
According to the investigation, the group includes Mrs. Nguyen Thi Nhi, 74 years old, Nguyen Trong Nghia, 23 years old, and Nguyen Van Tien, 28 years old.
All three were prosecuted for property theft, Vietnam detecttive service agency.
Investigation results show that Mrs. Nhi was identified as the intermediary.
Nghia and Tien gathered at her house, prepared tools, and used large-displacement motorbikes to steal dogs.
This group often operates in many communes in Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa provinces.
All the captured dogs were brought to Mrs. Nhi’s house to be gathered and sold.
The subjects only stole at night and always tried to erase traces before dawn, making it difficult for the investigation.
After a period of surveillance, the police organized an ambush and caught Nghia and Tien red-handed when they had just stolen 10 dogs, preparing to take them to Mrs. Nhi’s house.
The case is being further investigated by the authorities.
