The police arrested the suspect Nguyen Van Hau to investigate the act of rape and robbery.
At 5:20 p.m. on August 20, at a gas station in Chi Linh City, Hai Duong Province, M., from Tuyen Quang’s hometown, hitchhiked on Hau’s motorbike to Hai Duong City.
Hau took Ms. M. around to many places.
At 21:30 on the same day, Hau took Ms. M. to the Thai Binh river dike. Hau used force to have intercourse with M.
Hau asked M. to give him money and identification papers.
Hau took his motorbike and fled the scene when he saw someone approaching.
M. then reported the whole incident to the police.
The police arrested Hau, while he was hiding in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam.
The case is being investigated and clarified by the police.
