Da Nang Hotel Robbery: Suspect Arrested Within 24 Hours

Da Nang police have arrested Wang Tiejun, 48, a foreign national, for allegedly robbing a female casino manager.

The victim was staying at a hotel on Vo Nguyen Giap Street, Danang detective agency.

Investigators said the suspect had run out of money. He then decided to commit a robbery.

The suspect knew the victim often carried valuable belongings. He monitored her daily routine for a period of time.

He also prepared several items in advance. These included plastic bags, a cloth bag, spray paint, a motorbike, and clothing to conceal his identity.

On the afternoon of June 14, the suspect went to the hotel where the victim was staying.

He sprayed paint on surveillance cameras to blur their view. He then waited near the elevator area.

When he saw the victim standing alone, he approached her from behind.

He covered her head with a plastic bag and a cloth bag. The victim was unable to resist.

The suspect then grabbed her handbag and fled.

The bag contained an iPhone 15, two casino chips worth US$200, and some cash.

After more than 24 hours of investigation, criminal police identified Wang Tiejun as the suspect.

He was subsequently arrested. Authorities have launched criminal proceedings and placed him in temporary detention.

The investigation into the robbery is ongoing.
