Fake vinegar production furnace mixes acid with water

Da Nang police have just prosecuted Kieu Van Thanh, born in 1980, temporarily detained and Bui Song Hau, born in 1983, banned from leaving their place of residence for the crime of “Producing and trading in counterfeit food and food additives”.

Instead of fermenting rice, they mix acetic acid with well water, with a formula of 2 liters of acid/100 liters of water, to create fake vinegar.

During the search, the police seized more than 2,000 bottles of fake vinegar, about 2,000 liters, along with 20 cans of pure acid, about 600 liters.

If not stopped, the above ingredients could create up to 30,000 liters of fake vinegar, causing great harm to consumers’ health.
