Hanoi: Man detained for assaulting mother and 2 children

Police in Hai Bà Trưng ward, Hanoi, Vietnam have detained a man for further investigation and questioning in connection with a violent incident.

Hanoi detectives, the case concerns an alleged assault involving a woman and her two young children.

The incident reportedly occurred in the Lò Đúc area, prompting authorities to intervene and initiate a formal inquiry.

The incident occurred at around 6:00 PM on March 28 in alley 132, Lò Đúc, Hà Nội, Việt Nam.

The victims are a 38-year-old woman and her two young children, including an 11-month-old infant.

A video circulating online shows the woman holding her baby when she was verbally abused and pushed to the ground, causing the infant’s head to hit a wall.

The man then continued to strike her in the head and face, Vietnam detectives agency.

According to the victim, the family had moved to the area just two days earlier when a conflict with a neighbor arose.

When she attempted to record the incident on her phone, the man became more aggressive.

After the incident, the three victims reported the case to police and underwent medical examination.

The 11-month-old showed signs of a concussion and remains under observation; the mother and older child suffered minor injuries but experienced psychological distress.

Authorities stated that the man had previously been involved in disputes with nearby residents and had exhibited disorderly behavior.

The case is currently under further investigation in accordance with the law, Hanoi detective service.
