Penalty for falsely reporting about corona virus in Vung Tau Vietnam

The decision to fine young people with false information was signed by Colonel Vo Tai Quoc, Head of Internal Political Security Department of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province, Vietnam, January 30, 2020.

Police confirmed the incident on the evening of January 27, 2020, on Tran Tung’s Facebook page posting the following information: “Currently, Le Loi Hospital in Vung Tau City has two Chinese who are suspected of Corona virus”.

After more than 25 minutes attracted nearly 300 people to express their feelings, more than 400 comments and 600 shares about this information.

Tung removed the post during the night when Le Loi Hospital countered and told the police about this incident. Soon after, Tung was summoned by the police.

Tung admitted to posting false information due to “listening to unfounded outside information”. He also posted corrections, apologizing for the incorrect information given.
