Pretend to be an army lieutenant to commit fraud

A young man named Nguyen Van Dung, 23 years old, pretended to be a member of the Provincial Military Command to commit fraud, Vietnamese detective agency.

He promised to transfer military service locations to many people and appropriated the victims’ money.

Dung was arrested by Tuy Hoa City Police on charges of fraudulent appropriation of property.

According to the investigation, Dung introduced himself as “military assistant of the Phu Yen Provincial Military Command”.

He met a 42-year-old woman and said he could prepare documents for her child to be transferred to Regiment 888 of the Military Command of Phu Yen province, Vietnam.

Dung wore the uniform of the Vietnam People’s Army, wore the rank of lieutenant, and arranged to meet the woman.

When Dung received 15 million VND, the police burst in and caught him red-handed.

Dung claimed to have successfully carried out 7 other cases with similar tricks, appropriating a total of 104 million VND.
