Prosecuting young man for fake news Covid-19

According to information from the authorities in Thai Nguyen, Vietnam – Pham Van Hai, 31, was prosecuted for using Facebook of her ex-lover to spread the news that a person infected with Covid-19 died, in order to avenge her with cowardice.

Accordingly, the authorities decided to prosecute Hai for the crime of giving or illegally using computer and telecommunication networks according to Article 288 of the 2015 Penal Code in Vietnam.

While in love with a barber in Tan Khanh commune, Phu Binh district, Thai Nguyen, Vietnam. Hai knows her Facebook account and password. In June 2019, after breaking up, Hai seized the right to use the ex-girlfriend’s “Tocdep Thanhtinh” Facebook and changed the password.

Hai used this Facebook to post information: “Well, Thai Nguyen, I had a death due to Covid-19 and the government hid it” on April 10, 2020 and was accompanied by an image with the words “Everything is ready to wait for a good day to leave. ” False information on hundreds of comments and shares caused confusion, public disorder and disorder.

Hai admitted he was the one who posted false information on his ex’s Facebook, in order to avenge the love when he broke up. He will be responsible before Vietnamese law.
