The People’s Procuracy of Hong Linh town, Ha Tinh announced the decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Tran Quoc Vuong and Le Van An.
These two people were prosecuted for abusing their positions and powers to appropriate property.
According to the investigation by the authorities, Vuong and An are employees at the Animal Quarantine and Testing and Diagnostic Station, based in Hong Linh town, Vietnam.
These two people checked a truck with license plates from Ha Tinh province on its way to transport pigs to the South for consumption, in May 2023.
During the inspection of the shipment, the two defendants intentionally caused difficulties, forcing the owner to give 30 million VND.
The incident was then reported to the police.
