Suspect Arrested for Snatching Lottery Tickets in Quang Ngai

On December 29, the Kon Tum Ward Police Quang Ngai Province, Vietnam announced that they had coordinated with relevant units to arrest a suspect identified as D.V.C., a resident of Dak Bla Ward, Quang Ngai Province, for alleged robbery.

According to preliminary information, at approximately 8:19 a.m. on December 28, on Phan Dinh Phung Street in Kon Tum Ward, D.V.C. approached Mr. N.B.T., 66, a local lottery ticket seller, under the pretense of buying lottery tickets.

Taking advantage of the victim’s momentary lack of attention, the suspect suddenly grabbed a bundle of 30 lottery tickets and fled the scene on a motorbike.

The incident was captured by nearby security cameras and later circulated on social media, sparking public outrage.

Upon receiving the report, Kon Tum Ward Police promptly coordinated with relevant authorities to track down the suspect.

At around 1:30 p.m. the same day, D.V.C. was arrested in the Nam Dak Bla area of Kon Tum Ward. The stolen lottery tickets, which had not yet been sold, were recovered as evidence.

During questioning, the suspect confessed to the robbery, Vietnam detective agency.

The case has been transferred to the Criminal Police Division of the Quang Ngai Provincial Police for further investigation and handling in accordance with the law.
