On March 3, 2026, the Investigation Police Agency under the Ho Chi Minh City Police issued a decision to prosecute the case. Vietnamese detectives, a total of 20 defendants were charged in connection with this case.
They were among 38 individuals previously arrested at a gambling venue in Vũng Tàu Ward, Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam.
Vung Tau detective service, the charges include “Gambling” and “Organizing Gambling.”
Earlier, during a crime crackdown campaign ahead of the 2026 Tết Bính Ngọ holiday, the Criminal Police Division coordinated with the Mobile Police Division and Vũng Tàu Ward Police.
They discovered and raided the gambling site located in front of 61–65 Thắng Nhì Street. More than 100 officers took part in the operation.
They caught 38 people red-handed while gambling. The group was playing the card game “three-card brag” for money.
Authorities seized more than VND 160 million in cash. They also confiscated various items related to the gambling operation.
The alleged ringleader was identified as Nguyễn Văn Tuấn, born in 1989. He resides in Vũng Tàu Ward, Vietnam.
The investigation is ongoing. Authorities are expanding the case. Those involved will be handled strictly in accordance with the law.
