young man cheated on renting 25 self-driving cars

Nguyen Ba Than, 31 years old, rented 25 self-driving cars but was robbed and pledged for money. The incident happened in Ho Chi Minh City.

Than was sentenced to 20 years in prison by the People’s Court of Ho Chi Minh City;
Co-conspirator Tran Viet Thang received 10 years in prison for the same crime of fraud and appropriation of property.

Le Quang Vu, 39 years old, was sentenced to 11 years in prison for the crime of Consumption of property obtained by other people’s crimes.

During the investigation, the police agency recovered a number of cars and returned them to the victims.

In July 2017, Than opened a pawn shop in District 10, Ho Chi Minh City.

Than rented a total of 27 cars worth more than 17 billion VND from companies and individuals and then pledged them.

During the investigation and trial, the defendants admitted to the offence.
