Tưởng Chí Huy, 26, who drew public attention for assaulting a security guard on Nguyen Hue walking street, was released after his trial on August 7 in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam.
On the morning of February 27, Huy and his girlfriend were walking their dog on Nguyen Hue Street.
When the dog ran around, Nguyen Xuan C. (58), a security guard, tried to intervene by tapping the dog with a plastic stick.
Huy’s girlfriend reacted by kicking the guard, Vietnamese detective.
Huy then pushed and used a metal object to strike Mr. C. on the head, rendering him unconscious and causing 4% injury.
Huy was prosecuted for “intentionally causing injury” and taken into custody.
At the trial, Mr. C. confirmed he had received 100 million VND in compensation and voluntarily withdrew his request for prosecution.
As the case required a complaint from the victim to proceed, and Mr. C. had withdrawn it without coercion, the court dismissed the case and ordered Huy’s immediate release.
