On May 30, Dong Nai Provincial Police announced the arrest of several suspects involved in attempted murder, illegal possession and use of military-grade weapons, and illegal drug possession.
According to investigators, Dao Duc Tai, 27, had a relationship dispute with his girlfriend, identified as Ms. T., who lives in Da Kia Commune.
On April 13, Tai repeatedly called and threatened to kill Ms. T.’s entire family.
After receiving the report, police moved the victim’s family members to a safe location and launched an operation to locate and arrest the suspect.
In the early hours of April 14, Tai and another individual rode a motorcycle to Ms. T.’s house.
Upon arrival, they fired seven shots at the residence before fleeing the scene.
During the investigation, police determined that the suspects were hiding and appeared willing to use weapons to resist arrest.
Authorities later apprehended Tai and two accomplices, Le Thanh Nguyen and Phan Thanh Hien.
A search of their residences led to the seizure of a military-grade firearm, several pepper spray canisters, a slingshot, a machete, and five packets of white crystalline substance suspected to be illegal drugs.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are expanding the case while pursuing legal action against all individuals involved.
