Head of the economic police department was fired

Lieutenant Colonel Thai Dinh Hoai (43 years old, Head of Economic Police Department, Lai Chau Police Department) was deprived of his military service by using a fake certificate.

According to Major General To An Xo, the Minister of Public Security signed the highest disciplinary decision (stripping off the title of People’s Public Security) with Mr. Hoai.

Lai Chau Police Department implements the decision; Within one month at the latest, the Provincial Standing Committee of the Provincial Public Security will complete the procedures for handling and exclusion of the Party.

Mr. Hoai is a member of the Provincial Police Party Executive Committee, Secretary of the Economic Police Division.

In mid-September, the police of Lai Chau province received a report accusing Mr. Hoai of using fake high school diplomas, thus suspending his work for verification.

Accordingly, in the list of candidates participating in the continuation high school graduation exam at the exam point Vinh (Nghe An province) in 1994 without the name Thai Dinh Hoai. The list of graduates that year didn’t have a name either.

By comparing records stored at the Department, the authorities confirmed that Mr. Hoai’s high school diploma was fake.

In 1996, Mr. Hoai went to the police station in the Lai Chau Provincial Police (former) and then was recruited into the police service, working at the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department.

In 2004, Lai Chau split into two provinces of Lai Chau and Dien Bien. Mr. Hoai was assigned to work at the Office of Investigation Police Agency (Lai Chau Provincial Police).

In the period 2004-2009, Mr. Hoai studied at the People’s Police University. In 2008, he was assigned to work in the Economic Police Department, as head of the department in 2015.
