Police in District 8, Ho Chi Minh City, informed that they were making records to sanction 8 phone shops and an agent for selling garbage sim cards.
Vietnam detective agency – On November 10, District 8 police checked 9 locations with suspicion of trading, selling and renting phone sim cards.
Through inspection, an administrative violation record was made for 8 phone shops and one agent with the following acts:
- Selling mobile subscriber sim cards when the mobile telecommunications enterprise signing the contract is not authorized to enter into a model contract, general transaction conditions;
- Selling and circulating on the market of subscriber sim cards with pre-entered subscriber information.
- Sale and circulation of sim cards with pre-activated services but have not yet implemented or completed the conclusion of a contract according to the form and general transaction conditions.
In this case, the authorities have made a sanctioning file with a total amount of nearly 200 million VND; temporarily seized 147 sim cards.
Currently, the situation of criminals using garbage sim as a tool to perform fraudulent acts to appropriate property; usury;
Gambling and gambling organization; money laundering; calling, threatening, defaming the honor, insulting the reputation of individuals and organizations with complicated developments.
