Sentenced to death for transporting drugs

A 50-year-old man, named Hoang Nghia Hung, was sentenced to death for driving a car carrying nearly 4 kg of drugs from Huong Son district to Nghe An, Vietnam.

This person is guilty of illegal transportation of narcotics, according to article 250 of the Penal Code in Vietnam.

The court said that Hung’s behavior was very dangerous, and it was necessary to pronounce a severe sentence as a general deterrent.

At 13:00 on May 10, 2022, the Ha Tinh Border Guard coordinated with many forces to stop Hung’s 5-seat car moving on the road to avoid National Highway 1, the section through Xuan Linh commune, Nghi Xuan district.

The functional force seized a brown bag, inside containing 5 packs of meth, with a total weight of nearly 4 kg.

The above drug batch was identified as originating from Laos, worth about half a billion dong.

Hung claimed that he borrowed 500 USD from a Laotian for medical treatment.

This person asked that if he went to the border to receive drugs and deliver them to his partner, his debt would be forgiven, and he would be entitled to more wages, Hung agreed and did this.
