Danang detective, Da Nang city, Vietnam police have dismantled a large-scale online football betting ring.
Investigators identified the two alleged ringleaders as Dang Doan Ngoc Tuan, 43, and Van Anh Quoc, 36, both residents of Thanh Khe Ward.
The group operated through multiple online accounts and used various methods to conceal its transactions.
After a period of surveillance, police deployed around 50 officers in coordinated raids and summoned several individuals connected to the operation.
Authorities seized eight mobile phones and more than 700 pages of documents containing betting records.
Initial findings indicate that the betting ring handled nearly VND 60 billion (about USD 2.3 million) in total transactions.
During the 2026 FIFA World Cup alone, the total amount wagered reached approximately VND 20 billion.
Police are continuing their investigation to identify other individuals involved and handle the case in accordance with Vietnamese law.
